In recent days, Korean netizens have posted online to claim that certain Korean stars were involved.

These include (G) I-DLE’s Soojin, Seventeen’s Mingyu, “Uncanny Counter” star Jo Byeong-kyu, “Samjin Company English Class” actress Park Hye-soo, “Itaewon Class” actor Kim Dong-hee, the actress and former K- Kim So-hye, member of the pop girl group IOI, The Boyz’s Sunwoo, Stray Kids’s Hyunjin, and Loona’s Chuu.

Soojin’s classmate’s older sister in high school posted online accusing her of school violence and bullying. The older sister said that Soojin called her younger sister and her friend to the bathroom and made them slap each other and claimed that Soojin slapped her younger sister, took her money, and bullied her.

Answer: (G) I-DLE’s agency Cube Entertainment said that except for the argument between Soojin and her classmate over the phone, the accusations were not true. She said that in her first year of high school, she was caught by an iljin and subjected to verbal abuse. She said that Mingyu, who observed the situation from the beginning and laughed, threw a soda cap on her face and laughed a lot. He also claimed that Mingyu smoked and drank alcohol. As proof, he uploaded a graduation album. The post was deleted after several hours.

Response: Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen’s agency, denied the allegations, saying, “We do not understand who is making this claim and for what purpose.” He pointed out that the graduation album he uploaded was from a different year than Mingyu’s.

Sunwoo of the Boyz

A netizen posted and accused member of K-pop boy band The Boyz, Sunwoo, of dating violence, saying that his girlfriend went to school with bruises on her body. He was also accused of smoking and drinking in high school. Since then, the post has been removed.

Response: Cre.ker Entertainment, The Boyz’s agency, refuted the allegations saying, “We informed you that there was no physical violence, such as those mentioned in the deleted posts.”

Hyunjin from Stray Kids

Stray Kids’ Hyunjin was also accused of school violence by a high school classmate, who demands a personal apology from him.

“I am a person who never thought that Hwang Hyunjin would debut as an idol, that he would receive the support of many people and even more loved,” wrote the netizen. The writer of the publication at that time belonged to a small agency, learned to act and appeared in the filming as a supporting actor. The writer claimed that Hyunjin told them, “I’ll debut before you guys” and started harassing them.

The writer also claimed that at the end of the sophomore year of high school, they were invited to a class chat room where Hyunjin and other male students posted abusive words and sexual harassment.

Response: JYP Entertainment released a statement, saying that it is confirming the issue and is considering hearing from whoever wrote the post. He said that many false parts of the post are spreading online, promising to take legal action against those who spread false information.

Chuu de Loona

Another netizen posted online to claim that she was bullied by Chuu de Loona. She said that she and Chuu attended the same high school. She said that Chuu invited her to a chat room and cursed and threatened her. She also claimed that Chuu cursed her at the school gate as she was heading home.

Response: Blockberry Creative, Loona’s agency, said the allegations are different from the truth and promised to take legal action against those who damage the image and reputation of its artists with baseless false information.
