The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are ready to sit down with the American television host to discuss his departure from their roles as active members of the Royal Family and reveal their plans for the future. But a royal source has said that no one will benefit from the Sussexes going public with their story, and suggested that Buckingham Palace officials were concerned about the move.

The source told The Times: “It’s time to hide behind the palace sofa.

“Oprah is adept at getting people to talk about their feelings and is destined to take them down a path they will almost certainly regret.

“There will be an element of reviving Megxit and airing their grievances.

“Nobody benefits from that, but Oprah will get it out of them whether they like it or not.”

Over the decades, various members of the Royal Family have ended up regretting their interviews with the media.

Princess Diana gave an explosive interview to the BBC’s Panorama program in 1995 in which she spoke about Prince Charles’s extramarital affair and also admitted adultery on her part.

He later told friends that he was “deeply sorry” for the interview.

And the Prince of Wales is believed to have similarly repented for his interview with Jonathan Dimbleby in 1994.

The palace announced that he was temporarily retiring from royal duties.

Harry and Meghan won’t be the first members of the Royal Family to sit across from Oprah.

The duke’s aunt, Sarah Ferguson, has given several interviews to the talk show host.

Oprah of the Sussexes BBQ will air a 90-minute show on March 7 on CBS.

The show, titled Oprah With Meghan And Harry: A CBS Primetime Special, will highlight various themes.

According to the network, Meghan will occupy the center of the state at first while she talks to Oprah about her transition from actress to wife and royal mother.

The Duchess, who is expecting her second child, also mention how “he is managing life under intense public pressure.”

Later, Harry will join the two women as the conversation turns to the future.

The pair will discuss their big move across the pond and give fans a glimpse of what they should expect to see from them in the coming months.
