MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,240 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday, bringing the total count in the Philippines to 559,120.
Of the total cases, 34,100 are active cases, of which 86.7% are mild, 8.2% asymptomatic, 2.3% critical, and 0.68% moderate.
There were also 504 new recoveries and 239 additional deaths, bringing the total to 513, 120 and 12,068, respectively.
There were 10 duplicates, of which six were recoveries that were removed from the total case count.
Additionally, 167 cases that were previously labeled as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation, the DOH added.
