Discussions about a possible NBA All-Star game are ongoing.
But while we may not know what the league’s midseason showcase would look like, Utah Jazz fans still know what an NBA All-Star looks like. Now is your chance to let the rest of the NBA, the country and even the world know it too.
Voting for the NBA All-Star is open. Cast your votes for Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson and the rest of your favorite players now.
HOW TO VOTE
• NBA.com voting page at NBA.com/Vote: Fill out one full ballot per day (per day is defined as once every 24 hours) at vote.NBA.com from a desktop or mobile browser. Fans can select up to two guards and three front court players from each conference when choosing the starters.
• NBA App: Access the ballot and vote through the NBA app, which is available on Android and iOS. Fans can complete a full ballot per day by selecting up to two guards and three players from the front court of each conference when choosing the starters.
• Twitter: Tweet, Retweet, or reply with a hashtag of an NBA player’s first and last name (#FirstNameLastName) or Twitter username, along with the #NBAAllStar hashtag. Each tweet can include only the name or the name of a player. Fans can vote for 10 unique players per day from January 28 to February 16.
DOUBLE THE VOTE
There will be five “2 for 1 days” during the voting period. Your votes will be counted twice on January 30, February 2, February 4, February 13, and February 16. Those “2 for 1 days” run from midnight ET to 11:59 pm ET.
HOW WILL THE VOTES BE COUNTED?
NBA players and media will join with fans in selecting NBA All-Star starters. Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, while all current players and a panel of media will each account for 25 percent. Players and the media will be able to fill out a ballot, with three players from the frontcourt and two guards from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference.
After all votes have been counted, players will be ranked at each conference by position (guard and frontcourt) within each of three voting groups: fan votes, player votes, and media votes. . Each player’s score will be calculated by averaging their weighted rank from fan votes, player votes, and media votes. The two guards and the three players in the frontcourt with the best score in each conference will be named NBA All-Star starters. Fan voting will serve as a tiebreaker for players in a position group with the same score.
WHEN WILL THE NBA ALL-STARS BE ANNOUNCED?
Fan voting updates will be shared on Thursday, February 4 and Thursday, February 11. TNT will reveal this season’s NBA All-Star headlines on Thursday night, February 18 during TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax. TNT will also announce the NBA All-Star Reserves, selected by NBA head coaches, on the night of Tuesday, February 23.
