Kristin Cavallari’s separation from Jay Cutler is becoming increasingly bitter after the Hills star accused her husband of “punishing” her financially.
The mother of three, 33, filed new court documents Wednesday that reportedly claim Jay is withholding money from her and preventing her from buying a new home for herself and her children.
TMZ reports that the reality star and her retired NFL husband still live under the same roof in Tennessee, but Kristin believes the increasingly tense atmosphere is affecting her children, Camden, Jaxon and Saylor.
In the new documents she presents, Kristin accused Jay of refusing to release the funds she needs to buy a new home, after she started looking for another home last year when her marriage began to fail.

The American media reports that Kristin believes Jay is “punishing” her and has told her that she will not release the cash she needs, and that the evil began when they returned home from their luxurious family vacation in the Bahamas, where they spent the first part of emergency closure due to coronavirus.
It comes after the couple have already started clashing over child custody, with Jay filing for divorce first and asking for joint legal and physical custody of their offspring.

In her counter-petition, filed three days after Jay’s, Kristin has asserted herself as the primary caregiver for the children and, as such, believes that she should have them with her full time, with Jay with visitation rights.
She has claimed that living under the same roof with her father is creating a toxic atmosphere for her three children as she allegedly tries to fight her in front of them, TMZ reports.
It’s a gigantic U-turn of the joint statement Kristin and Jay made over the weekend where they insisted that their separation was a mutual decision.

“We have nothing but love and mutual respect and we are deeply grateful for the shared years, the memories created, and the children we are so proud of,” he wrote in his heavily leaked Instagram post announcing the separation.
“This is just the situation of two people separating. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”
