Steph Curry’s 62-point performance spawns new MyTeam content

Moment-driven content works a little differently in NBA 2K21 this year. For example, Golden State Warriors Steph Curry scored 62 points, the NBA season high, Sunday night in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

As usual, a highlight game like the one Curry enjoyed resulted in new content for NBA 2K21’s MyTeam mode. In previous years, these games would produce a Moments card. If the notable performance occurred early in the season, the Moments card is likely to be an Amethyst or Diamond. The later in the year a player produced a featured game, the higher the gem designation.

In this year’s game, it appears that the Moments cards have seemingly been replaced by user agendas driven by the specifics of the game being recognized.

Rather than drop a Galaxy Opal Steph Curry card, which would have been appropriate for the era and its superlative score, 2K released an Agenda of Moments.

In this agenda challenge, MyTeamers can use any Curry card to achieve multiple aspects of Curry’s 62-point game. They can earn more than 3000 XP for their problems and achievements.

Because the NBA season started later than normal due to the pandemic, the release schedule for the cards had to be adjusted. It’s unclear if that played a role in limiting or removing the Moments cards, but this system can serve two purposes.

First, it prevents the mode from being overloaded with too many versions of the same player. That has always been a nuisance against mode. In addition, he uses memorable NBA performances in real life as a means to create initiatives within the mode, which are far more valuable than any other card.
