NEW YORK (AP) – Police have released a new video clip showing a woman trying to attack a black teenager after falsely accusing him of stealing her phone from a New York City hotel.

The New York Police Department asked the public to help locate the woman without identifying her beyond calling her a suspect in an “attack” late last week. Police said Thursday they are still seeking her on possible assault charges stemming from an altercation that sparked allegations of racial profiling.

The uproar started when Keyon Harrold, a prominent jazz trumpeter, posted a video on social media of Saturday’s showdown at the Arlo Hotel. He said the woman scratched him, accosted and grabbed his 14-year-old son, Keyon Harrold Jr., at the lower Manhattan hotel where the two were staying.

Harrold said the phone was returned by an Uber driver shortly after.

The widely viewed video of the father shows an agitated woman demanding her phone be returned as the hotel manager tries to resolve the situation. At one point, the woman seems to rush in and says, “I’m not going to let you go with my phone.”

New police security video more clearly shows the woman frantically chasing the teenager as he tried to exit the hotel’s front door. She has been seen grabbing him from behind before they both hit the ground.

The video appeared in a tweet from New York Police Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison, which included a close-up photo of the woman labeled “WANTED.”
