Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 4) – Authorities arrested three suspects who are allegedly involved in the rape and murder of Christine Angelica Dacera, a 23-year-old flight attendant during a New Years Eve party at a Makati city hotel.
In a statement, the Philippine National Police said John Pascual Dela Serna III, 27; Rommel Daluro Galido, 29; and John Paul Reyes Halili, 25, were also charged Monday with the crime of rape with murder during an investigation process at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the city of Makati.
The PNP said that nine other people who were also with the victim during her stay at the City Garden Hotel in Makati City are now being targeted by authorities. They were identified as Gregorio Angelo de Guzman, Louie de Lima, Clark Jezreel Rapinan, Rey Englis, Mark Anthony Rosales, Jammyr Cunanan, Valentine Rosales, one Ed Madrid; and a certain Paul.
According to the initial investigation, the victim and the suspects were at a New Years Eve party at the hotel. After noon on January 1, Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room. Hotel staff tried to revive her before she was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
In a statement, the victim’s employer, PAL Express, promised to support Dacera’s family in their cry for justice.
“We are supporting the flight attendant family at this very difficult time,” PAL Express said. “Our wish is that the truth comes out in the interest of justice.”
