San-En’s Thirdy, diagnosed with a broken finger, sits in front of Shibuya

Thirdy Ravena missed out on Sunday in San-En Neophoenix’s Japan B. League away game against the Shibuya Sun Rockers with a hand injury.

The Neophoenix said Ravena was diagnosed with an oblique fracture of the metacarpal of the right fourth finger after injuring herself in Saturday’s heartbreaking 81-80 loss to the Sun Rockers.

Ravena suffered the injury during a fumble situation before leaving the game with 5:30 left in the third quarter.

It is not yet known how long it will take Ravenna to fully recover. But a prolonged absence may prevent the former Athenaeum star from participating in the B. League All-Star Game and Dunk Contest January 15-16 in Mito, Japan.

Ravenna had already missed three games this season after testing positive for COVID-19 in late November.

He is averaging 8.8 points on 37 percent shooting with 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 12 games for San-En.

But the Neophoenix entered Sunday’s game with a 5-21 record, having lost their last outings.
