The Department of Health (DoH) recorded 1,097 new cases of the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Saturday, but noted that the results may be lower due to the unavailability of some data during New Year’s Day.
The total number of cases in the country increased to 476,916, of which 27,721 are active.
Patients diagnosed as mild, moderate and asymptomatic they constitute 92.4 percent of all active cases. Those that are critical are 4.9 percent while the severe cases are 2.0 percent.
Davao del Norte led all provinces and cities with the highest number of new cases with 65, followed by Davao City, Laguna, Batangas and Cavite.

Of the 179 laboratories, only 164 submitted their results on January 1 due to the temporary unavailability of the Covid-19 document deposit system (CDRS).
As a result, only 6,227 tests were recorded on Friday, which produced 456 positive samples, or a positivity rate of 7.3 percent.
