June Mar Fajardo authorized for PBA season 46, discovers Al Chua

Good news for San Miguel fans: June Mar Fajardo is now eligible to play.

None other than San Miguel Corp. (SMC) sports director Alfrancis Chua revealed it during a guest appearance on The Chasedown on Saturday.

The coach-turned-executive said the current six-time PBA MVP already has the mark of the renowned Dr. George Canlas.

“We hope he plays the next conference or this season”, Chua said.

“Doc (George) Canlas said he has a go play sign.”

Fajardo missed last season held in Clark’s bubble to hit the road to recovery from a gruesome leg injury he sustained in training last February.

And the brewers missed his presence very much.

Without him, their five-year reign as Philippine Cup kings came to a halt following their quarter-final loss to Meralco by sweep.

Then a new era opened and sister team Barangay Geneva took the throne after dispatching TNT Tropang Giga in the Finals, 4-1.

Chua took nothing away from the Gin Kings, but admitted that things could have been different if Fajardo had stayed healthy and played.

“Maybe it will be different if June Mar is there” he said.

The 31-year-old has come a long way since his injury, something that has been documented through his YouTube channel AHOS Gaming.

He returned to the court for the first time on October 2 to shoot, then lifted weights and worked out in the gym weeks later.

The new season of PBA is scheduled to open on April 9.
