PAGASA warns of flooding in large swaths of Mindanao due to LPA

MANILA – An area of ​​low pressure located east of Guian City, Eastern Samar and the end of a frontal system could cause flooding in large areas of Mindanao, the state meteorological office said on Saturday.

According to its 6 p.m. flood advisory, PAGASA said northern Mindanao, Caraga and the Davao region would experience occasional light to moderate rains in the next 12 hours.

Here are the waterways in those regions that are likely to be affected by the weather.

North Mindanao

  • Bukidnon: rivers and tributaries, in particular the Alto Tagalo and the Alto / Este de Cagayán

“People living near mountain slopes and in lower areas of the aforementioned river systems and local disaster risk reduction and management councils are advised to take precautionary measures,” the meteorological agency said.
