Sara Duterte tops Pulse Asia poll of preferred presidential candidates

MANILA – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte emerged as No. 1 in a poll of potential presidential candidates conducted by Pulse Asia.

Duterte came out on top, with 26 percent of those polled choosing her, followed by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and Senator Grace Poe, who were chosen by 14 percent of those polled.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso got 12 percent, while Senator Manny Pacquiao came in second with 10 percent.

Meanwhile, Vice President Leni Robredo was chosen by 8 percent of those surveyed.

In the vice presidential race, Domagoso was No. 1, followed by Sara Duterte, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Marcos, Pacquiao, Senator Bong Go, and Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero.

Pulse Asia said the national survey is based on a sample of 2,400 representative adults and has a 2 percent margin of error.

Fieldwork for the survey was conducted from November 23 to December 2 through face-to-face interviews, Pulse Asia said.
