OVP spends P500 million in equity and donations for relief operations in 2020

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) spent more than P500 million in its own funds and donations for COVID-19 response operations and disaster relief in 2020, it said Wednesday.

In a summary of its relief operations through Wednesday, the OVP reported that it mobilized resources in the amount of P540.46 million to help thousands of families across the country.

Of this amount, P505.39 million was spent on responding to COVID-19, including community assistance, personal protective equipment, food and care packages, medical supplies, test kits and equipment, transportation for stranded people, learning to modular distance and training in sustainable livelihoods. .

Meanwhile, the OVP said that more than 35 million pesos were used for relief operations after the eruption of the Taal volcano and typhoons Quinta, Rolly, Ulysses and others.

More than P330 million of the total resources mobilized came from OVP funds, while more than P210 million came from donations, including in-kind, from the non-profit group Kaya Natin. -NB, GMA News
