PH registers 465,000 cases of COVID;  deaths exceed 9K

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health registered 886 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the country’s number of cases to 471,526.

The additional cases brought the number of active cases to 23,348, according to DOH’s daily case bulletin.

DOH also recorded 253 new recoveries and 38 new deaths, bringing the total to 439,016 and 9,162, respectively.

Davao City registered the highest number of new infections with 61 cases, followed by Pampanga (58), Bulacan (45), Quezon City (45) and Cavite (37).

DOH said it removed 10 duplicates from the total case count, nine of which are recovered cases.

Meanwhile, eight cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
