Klay Thompson reacts to Damion Lee’s triple winner against Bulls

On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors recorded their first win of the 2020-21 season in spectacular fashion. After starting the season with back-to-back losses, Damion Lee’s last-second shot against the Chicago Bulls marked Golden State’s first mark in the win column for the 2020-21 campaign.

After erasing a seven-point lead at Chicago in the fourth quarter, Kevon Looney followed a foul by Andrew Wiggins to score the game at 121. Although Zach LaVine responded with a running back to give Chicago a two-point lead with five seconds remaining. It was not enough to kill Lee and the Warriors.

After a broken incoming play, Lee drilled a deep triple from the top of the key to give Golden State its first win of the season, 129-128.

As the Warriors invaded Lee onto the court, one of his teammates was watching from home. After Lee’s heroic leap, Klay Thompson weighed in on social media. The five-time All-Star guard called Lee a “beast” on Twitter:

Lee finished the game with 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes from the bench.

Before they wrap up their four-game road trip to open the season, the Warriors will have a chance to build on Lee’s win with a stop in Detroit on Tuesday.
