President Rodrigo Duterte revealed on Monday the names of congressmen allegedly involved in acts of corruption at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his public address Monday night, Duterte said the names came up in the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) investigation into corruption.

They are: Representative of Occidental Mindoro Jospehine Ramirez-Sato, Representative of Quezon City Alfred Vargas, Representative of Misamis Occidental Henry Oaminal, Representative of Isabela Alyssa Sheena Tan, Representative of Samar del Norte Paul Daza, Representative of Quezon Angelina Tan, Party ACT-CIS- List Representative Eric Yap and Representative of Bataan Geraldine Roman.

Former Ifugao representative Teodoro Baguilat Jr. was also on the list.

Duterte previously refused to name lawmakers in the PACC report. He said he chose to read the names so that the public knows who the corrupt government officials are.

However, he noted that the inclusion of congressmen on the list does not mean that they are guilty of corruption.

“I just want to assure everyone that reading your name (reading your names) is not a condemnation or accusation that you are guilty of something,” the president said. “This just showed up in the PACC investigation (this appeared in the PACC investigation).”

Duterte said there was no hard evidence to prove the lawmakers’ guilt.

It also named district engineers allegedly involved in corrupt practices according to the PACC report. He ordered his relief.
