State meteorologists are monitoring three low pressure areas (LPAs) outside the Philippines Area of ​​Responsibility (PAR), with one of them expected to enter PAR within the next 36 hours.

In its warning at 11 am Monday, PAGASA said the three LPAs are “less likely to become tropical depression.”

At 10 am, the first LPA was monitored 250 km west northwest of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, while the second was estimated at 115 km northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

The third LPA, the one expected to enter PAR in 36 hours, was estimated 1,500 km east of Mindanao.

According to PAGASA, LPAs can bring moderate to heavy rains over the northern and eastern parts of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, the eastern part of Isabela, and the Kalayaan Islands.

Meanwhile, light to moderate and occasionally heavy rains are expected over the rest of the Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, the northern part of Quezon, including the Polillo Islands, and Palawan, including the Calamian, Cuyo, Cagayancillo islands. Eastern Visayas and Caraga region.

PAGASA also warned that flooding, including flash floods and rain-induced landslides, can occur during periods of heavy or prolonged rains, “especially in areas identified as highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards or in locations that received a significant amount of rainfall over the past two years. of days or weeks. “
