Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Dallas Mavericks, NBA Rumors
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Luka Doncic is an NBA superstar after just two seasons in the league, and this season he is a legitimate candidate for the Dallas Mavericks MVP. Doncic averaged 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists and shot 46.3% from the floor, 31.6% from three-point range, establishing himself as one of the favorites to win the 2020-21 NBA MVP. It should come as no surprise to those who know Luka Doncic’s backstory to see him so successful in the NBA at such a young age.

The young Slovenian started playing professional basketball when he was 16 years old and is now the face of the Dallas Mavericks and one of the faces of the NBA at 21. With Kristaps Porzingis by their side on the floor, the Mavericks have not only two young stars of the game, but two guys Dallas can build for the foreseeable future.

However, Kristaps Porzingis will miss the start of the 2020-21 NBA season as he continues to recover from a meniscus injury sustained in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. Given that Luka is the only All-Star player on the NBA list, Mavs as the season starts, they could be a team that’s in the market to make a move and bring another complementary player to their All-Stars.

Totally healthy, this team is more than capable of being one of the best teams in the Western Conference and if they could acquire another high-level talent, the Dallas Mavericks could end up being legitimate threats to dethrone the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference.

With Tim Hardaway Jr.’s big contract and after acquiring Josh Richardson in the offseason, the Dallas Mavericks have little cap space and would have to work on a few contracts to make a big trade sometime this season.

However, if the Dallas Mavericks decide to enter the business market and are looking to bring in another talented player, here are 3 interesting business goals to pursue.
