TD Vicky makes landfall for the second time in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression Vicky made landfall for the second time in the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, on Saturday night, the state meteorological office said.

The Philippine Astronomical, Geophysical and Atmospheric Services Administration (Pagasa) said Vicky made landfall in the city at 8 p.m.

The tropical depression made landfall for the first time in the Banganga Township in Davao Oriental on Friday.

Tropical Cyclone No. 1 Wind Signal is currently hoisted over the northern and central parts of Palawan (Araceli, Dumaran, Taytay, El Nido, San Vicente, Roxas, Puerto Princesa City, Aborlan, Narra, Quezon, Sofronio Espanola) , including the Calamian, Cuyo, Cagayancillo and Kalayaan islands.

According to Pagasa data, Vicky has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

Vicky was also monitored moving west-northwest at 20 km / h.

The tropical depression is expected to roll out of the Philippines Area of ​​Responsibility on Sunday afternoon.
