Welcome to the game thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things here, but for all newbies we have a few rules. Our Community Principles apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, no trolling and no swearing too much.
It’s the last preseason game for the San Antonio Spurs, and it’s deja vu again, as the Spurs face the same team they saw two days ago in the same city. Hopefully tonight’s game will turn out to be a different result than the disorganized mess we saw when the Spurs mob was outmatched by the Rockets reserve in the fourth quarter and lost 112-98. But it’s preseason and the final score doesn’t matter, so the most important thing to look for is the continued solid play of Spurs rookies Devin Vassell and Tre Jones, along with improving Dejounte Murray and Tey Lyles. Veterans DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay and LaMarcus Aldridge don’t have much to prove tonight, but Gregg Popovich will likely play them extended minutes just for the sake of it. Lonnie Walker IV loves to play the Rockets, so expect a great game from him tonight.
