IATF approves Calambubble training for athletes bound for Tokyo

The Interagency Task Force has approved the Philippine Olympic Committee’s request to resume training.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

“The request of the Philippine Olympic Committee to resume training of national athletes competing for the Tokyo Olympics in a bubble-like environment was approved.”, It reads in resolution 88 of the IATF.

The POC recommended that the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna be the home of the bubble for both athletes who have already qualified for the world match and those participating in the playoffs.

Inspire also hosted the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3 × 3 President’s Cup 2020 and Gilas Pilipinas Camp in preparation for the 2020 FIBA ​​Asia Cup Qualifiers.

The athletes who have already qualified for the quadrennial match scheduled for July 23 to August 8, 2021 are Eumir Marcial, EJ Obiena, Caloy Yulo and Irish Magno. Of the four, only Magno is in the country.
