MANILA, Philippines – The Interagency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has required that the public wear face shields and face masks at all times outside of their residences to stop the spread of COVID- 19.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, who is also the official spokesperson for the IATF, announced this at a televised press conference in the Palace on Tuesday.
The new directive modifies the previous IATF order requiring people to wear face shields and face masks only when entering enclosed spaces or establishments such as shopping centers.
Meanwhile, the use of masks in public places has been ordered as mandatory since April.
As of Monday, there are 450,733 confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide, including 418,723 recoveries and 8,757 deaths.
