MANILA – Kapamilya stars Kathryn Bernardo and Angel Locsin are rarely honored to be included in Forbes magazine’s list of Asia’s 100 Top Digital Stars.
Sharing screenshots of the Forbes list on his Instagram account Tuesday night, Bernardo thanked the magazine for including it on the inaugural list.
“It is an honor to be mentioned alongside people who make good use of their influence, especially in these difficult times when the digital platform plays a very important role in creating awareness and promoting positivity,” he said.
Meanwhile, Locsin shared her hope to inspire others to help.
“There are no words to express how deeply humbled and honored I am to be included in the Forbes Asia 100 Digital Stars List in the Asia Pacific region as one of our country’s representatives. I have always admired Forbes and am in I am struck by being put in the same light with my Asia-Pacific contemporaries whom I admire, “Locsin wrote.
“Thank you Forbes for this platform where we can give back to the people who allowed us to be where we are today and hopefully inspire others to do their best to improve the lives of others. Because a little gesture can create a ripple effect if we can influence others to do the same. Once again, thank you for this great honor, “added Locsin.
Launched Tuesday, Forbes Asia’s 100 Digital Stars of Asia “recognizes film, music and television personalities in the Asia Pacific region” who have “conquered the digital world.”
They were evaluated based on their combined reach and engagement on social media, as well as their recent work, impact, and advocacy amid the pandemic.
Besides Bernardo and Locsin, other Filipino personalities who made the Forbes Asia list include Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Marian Rivera, Vice Ganda, and Sarah Geronimo.
Other prominent faces on the list include South Korean artists BTS and Blackpink, Jay Chou from Taiwan, Naomi Watanabe from Japan, and Australian stars Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth.
