LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – Barangay Geneva moved closer to a victory of clinching the Philippine Basketball Association title after defeating TNT Tropang Giga, 98-88, in Game 4 of the final at the Cultural and Sports Center of the Foundation of the University of Angeles in Pampanga on Sunday.
LA Tenorio came to life at the decisive moment, burying consecutive 3s that saved Barangay from a comeback offer led by RR Pogoy by Tropang Giga from 18 points down.
Tenorio also scored the dagger tray that completed Guinevere’s survival.
Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar each scored 22 points for Barangay, who can clinch the best-of-seven series in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Scottie Thompson played super submissive this time, but still flirted with a triple-double after scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
Pogoy finished with 34 points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals for Tropang Giga, but the explosion fell short as they are still reeling from the absence of the injured Ray-Ray Parks.
Worse still, Jayson Castro was also injured early in the third quarter.
