MANILA, Philippines – The total number of cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines reached 435,413 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,061 new infections on Thursday.
This increase brought the number of patients with active coronavirus cases to 27,642, according to the DOH case bulletin.
Of these, 85.2% present mild symptoms, 6.9% asymptomatic, 2.6% present severe symptoms and 5% are in critical condition.
Most of the new COVID-19 cases came from the city of Davao with 92 cases, followed by the city of Quezón (92), Rizal (50), Pampanga (44) and Quezón (43).
328 new recoveries were reported, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 399,325.
However, 10 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 8,446.
The DOH also noted that five duplicate cases were removed from the total case count, which were recovered cases.
In addition, three cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
