The PBA Philippines Cup Finals have drawn huge numbers online through the first two games of the series that saw Barangay Ginebra San Miguel take a 2-0 lead over TNT.

One Sports received an average of nearly 280,000 views on its Facebook page during the peak of Games 1 and 2, a testament to both Geneva’s power of attraction and the way the two matches were decided.

Geneva’s 100-94 overtime win in Game 1 had a total of 1.8 million views, while the same team’s 92-90 win in Game 2 generated 1.5 million on the same Facebook page.

Game 2 live streams on other social media accounts also scored high.

The PBA Facebook account garnered 1.5 million total views from the game’s live stream, while PBA Rush and the FIBA Asia Champions Cup social media account each garnered 1.1 million total views.

The numbers could rise even further as the series progresses, especially with Geneva fans raving about their team two wins away from capturing their first Philippine Cup title since 2007.

The online platform has become one of the main sources for PBA fans to watch games since the bubble began on October 11.

Several Geneva knockout round games scored good numbers, while the return of Phoenix Super LPG star Calvin Abueva from a 16-month suspension in late October also drew a stellar audience.
