Philippine Airlines Offers Cheaper, Faster COVID-19 Testing in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) offers passengers cheaper and faster COVID-19 testing, helping to reduce a tipping point experienced by travelers traveling during the pandemic.

PAL said customers leaving the Philippines will be able to use their own RT-PCR testing center in Manila.

Starting December 1, PAL ticket holders will get a P500 discount from the regular test fee of P4,500. Test results will also be posted within 12-24 hours.

The PAL COVID-19 RT-PCR testing site is located at the Philippine Airlines Learning Center in Ermita, Manila. The Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is your partner accredited by the Department of Health.

The testing facility is open Monday through Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm without a break at noon. Ticket holders can choose between a walk-in test or a test drive.

This is one of the steps that the flag carrier is taking to make the trip more convenient for its passengers.

To date, PAL has restored less than 20 percent of its network. This was mainly due to government restrictions, but also because many passengers have delayed their travel plans due to the additional burden of proof.

According to PAL, the test center accepts cash, credit or debit cards, GCash, PayPal, WeChat pay, and AliPay.

PAL passengers must present their ID, PAL ticket and QR code indicating the complete record on the PAL Passenger Profile and Health Declaration form. PAL passengers can access the form at https://bit.ly/PALIntPPHD.
