PBA News: TNT vs Phoenix: Game 5 Preview

TNT and Phoenix Super LPG meet for the last time on Friday for the right to play in the final of the PBA Philippine Cup.

Game time is 3:45 pm at the University of Angeles Foundation Sports Stadium and Cultural Center.

Tropang Giga aims to return to the Philippine Cup final, their last appearance was in 2013 where they won the crown against Rain or Shine.

The Fuel Masters, meanwhile, await their first final appearance in franchise history after buying Barako Bull in 2016.

The Troop is looking to claim its second straight victory after beating the Fuel Masters, 102-101, on Wednesday.

TNT coach Bong Ravena said that now it will be a battle of who wants it more.

“We have to be ready for Phoenix as well. We respect them a lot. I know they can play and finish the game. Walang relax na mangyayari in a minute. The longer the series, the more difficult it will be. We have to win that game so bad. We have to really want that game, ”Ravena said.

Bobby Ray Parks will look to continue his performance in the rubber match after he scored 36 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the fourth game.

Ravena also hopes Troy Rosario and Poy Erram can regain their form on offense, with Rosario not scoring in Game Four. Erram only had four last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Fuel Masters are looking to regain their winning path after holding a 2-1 series lead.

Matthew Wright surrendered 34 points in the fourth game, but it wasn’t enough as the Fuel Masters lagged behind early on and their rally failed at the end.
