South Korea’s BTS wins 1st Grammy Award for K-Pop

SEOUL – South Korean boy band Bts on Tuesday it landed the first Grammy nomination for a K-pop band, bringing the global sensation one step closer to winning the music award.

Since their debut in 2013, the seven-member band has been at the forefront of South Korean pop music, most recently achieving their first number one single on the Billboard charts in the United States with “Dynamite.”

The first-time nominees shared on Twitter their live reactions to their 2021 Grammy nomination in the field of best pop group performance.

In the video, four of the seven members, leader RM, singers Jimin, Jungkook, and V, get up from a couch, clap and cheer with joy when the nomination for their hit single “Dynamite” is announced.

“Above all, the ARMYs are the ones who helped make this miracle come true: that we got the Grammy nomination. Thank you always,” Bts he said on Twitter, addressing the group’s fanbase, known as ARMY, an acronym for Adorable MC Representative for Youth.

Thousands of fans retweeted the reaction clips and congratulated the group on their achievements: “Very proud of you,” commented one Twitter user.

“Congratulations! You did it! You deserve it!” wrote another user.

The assent comes after Bts released his latest album “BE” last week.
