Moonton announced Philippine professional boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquio as a brand ambassador for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang In Philippines. The move comes shortly after the game celebrated its milestone of 1B downloads worldwide.
The official announcement stated that 70% of his players in the country are fans of the boxing legend. The inclusion of the game in the Sea games in 2019 he laid the groundwork for the sport’s legitimation in the country and helped convince Pacquiao to be the face of the game. Currently serving a six-year term as a senator, he also reiterated that his son Jimuel is a fan of the game and regularly broadcasts it with his friends.
To commemorate the partnership, the developers will also release a character based on Pacquiao in the game known as Paquito. Arnold Vegafría, Pacquiao’s business manager, said the support fee from the deal will also be used to fund the senator’s relief operations for victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
Currently, there are more than 100 million registered users and 25 million monthly active users in the Philippines for Mobile legends.
