PH registers 416,852 COVID-19 cases; Deaths now more than 8K

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines registered 1,791 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections to 416,852.

Of the number, the Department of Health (DOH) said 8 percent or 33,224 cases are active.

The death toll from COVID-19 in the country reached 8,080, which is 1.94 percent of total COVID-19 cases. This after 55 more patients died from the respiratory disease.

Meanwhile, 328 new recovered patients bring total COVID-19 recoveries to 375,548.

DOH once again altered the country’s COVID-19 case burden after eliminating six duplicate cases. Of this number, four are recoveries.

The health agency also reclassified 13 recoveries as deaths.

Only three molecular labs had not submitted their COVID-19 count to DOH on Friday, November 20.
