Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 20) – Vice President Leni Robredo denounced the harassment of her daughters after her tweets came into the spotlight during a briefing in Malacañang for allegedly asking about the whereabouts of President Rodrigo Duterte after Typhoon Ulysses.

Now my kids are being bullied (Now, it’s my daughters who are being bullied), ”Robredo said in a Facebook post Thursday night.

He did not specify any incidents, but it was released hours after presidential spokesman Harry Roque defended Duterte’s tirades against him. Duterte claimed that Robredo questioned his whereabouts during last week’s super typhoon and warned him not to compete with the administration’s response to the disaster.

Roque at a press conference on Thursday said that while Robredo herself may not be part of the trending #NasaanAngPangulo (Where is the president?) Tweets, her daughters are. Later, the Palacio official showed a Twitter exchange between Robredo’s daughters, Tricia and Aika, in which they alluded to someone who is still asleep on a Saturday morning despite the calamity. They did not name anyone.

The Vice President stressed that her daughters “are their own people” and that she has always been proud of their hard work and achievements.

“Totoo (it’s true), they are frank and rightly so. We have trained them to defend themselves and what they believe in, ”said Robredo.

“Now they are all adults,” he added. “They are not in the government. They are not political and they do not plan to be ”.

When calls to rescue trapped Cagayan residents flooded social media Friday night, netizens asked for updates on the national government’s response. Seeing none, Robredo provided information on his Twitter page and coordinated calls for help.

Duterte then threw false accusations that Robredo made unauthorized orders to the Armed Forces and questioned his absence, things the vice president had discredited, speculating that the president was being given incorrect information.
