MANILA, Philippines – Total COVID-19 cases in the country reached 410,718 on Tuesday after the Department of Health (DOH) announced an additional 1,148 infections.
In its daily COVID-19 case bulletin, the DOH also reported an additional 186 recoveries and 23 deaths, bringing their respective totals to 374,543 and 7,862.
Excluding recoveries and deaths, 28,313 are considered active cases or those still recovering from respiratory illness, according to DOH. This represents only 6.9% of the total count.
The DOH explained that the relatively lower number of additional cases is attributed to the lower compliance with the laboratory presentation (81.33%) for November 15 compared to the day before (90.91%) and the previous week (88 , 27%).
As of November 15, only 135 of the 166 accredited laboratories submitted their data. The majority (18/31) of the labs that did not submit applications were unable to submit their application because they had no operations last Sunday, while four were recently accredited.
There were four duplicate cases that were removed from the previous count, one of which was labeled a recovery, the DOH also said.
“Furthermore, eight (8) cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” he said.
