Cagayan is in a state of calamity due to the flood, which was caused by the release of water from the Magat dam and the great sedimentation of the water courses.
Nine flood-related deaths so far they have been reported in Cagayan.
The capital of Cagayan, the city of Tuguegarao, was also in a state of calamity.
