Fox News receives criticism for a promotional video in which its opinion leaders echo Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims about the presidential election, which he lost to Joe Biden but refuses to budge.
“Oh my gosh,” Andrew Laurence of Media Matters for America, a liberal media watchdog group, wrote on Twitter. “Fox is running a promotion of its ‘opinion’ hosts casting doubt on the election results and I suppose they are trying to keep their rabid viewers satisfied.”
In the short video, an announcer presents a montage of “the voices America trusts.” Laura Ingraham comes up first and says, “These legal efforts are critical.”
That’s a reference to cases that Trump advisers have mounted in key states on the battlefield, alleging without significant evidence of election fraud and ballot irregularities and seeking to overturn the results through recounts. Such efforts have met with little success, and experts say they are almost certain to fail. Trump has more than 5 million votes against in the popular vote and lost the electoral college to Biden by 306-232, the same score with which he beat Hillary Clinton in 2016, in what he has claimed was a landslide victory.
In the Fox News video, Tucker Carlson appears next.
“There are apparent irregularities,” he says.
“The media mob and the Democrats lie,” says Sean Hannity.
“Speak up for you and the topics that matter most to people,” says the announcer.
“They thought there would be a blue wave, that’s not the case,” says Steve Doocy of Fox & Friends, Trump’s favorite morning show, in fact pointing to an electoral truth: that Trump attracted the most votes of any president in functions, avoiding a crushing defeat, and that Republicans made progress at the state level and in the US House and it seems likely that they will retain control of the Senate.
“You’ll see something even bigger than Trump in 2022 and 2024,” says Greg Gutfeld, referring to the next two election years.
“The truth must come out,” says Ingraham.
“Can we speak freely, again, can we get America back?” Carlson asks.
“We the people deserve better,” Hannity says.
“Fox News,” says the announcer. “America is watching.”

CNN’s Oliver Darcy wrote that the Fox News video “appears to be part of an attempt to hold on to its bleeding audience, an audience that refuses to believe reality, in large part because Fox has groomed millions to distrust it. credible news sources ”.
Such conspiracy theories have crossed over into Fox’s “direct” news operation since the election for Biden was declared last week. In the four days after the result was released, Media Matters said, Fox News “questioned or promoted conspiracy theories about the election results at least 255 times.
