PS Plus December 2020: Exciting News for Fans of Free PS4 and PS5 Games | Games Entertainment

Sony has a busy schedule planned for the next few weeks, and a small part of this will include new free games on PS4. As in previous months, the new titles will be available to download in early December from the PlayStation Plus and PS Now services. This will roll out to the PS5, and most PlayStation 4 games will be backwards compatible on the next-gen console. Most of the new titles provided by Sony will be playable on the PS5, including better loading times.

November also included a great PS5 giveaway, with players able to download Bugsnax as part of the official lineup.

Sony said at the time: “The first PS5 game to join PlayStation Plus is Young Horses’ delightful and whimsical first-person adventure, Bugsnax!

“He plays an investigative journalist who sets out to explore Snaktooth Island, home to the legendary half-insect, half-sandwich creatures, Bugsnax.

“Discover, hunt and capture the 100 creatures and at the same time track and gather the inhabitants of the island.”

There was a time when PlayStation Plus subscribers could get various titles from different platforms, including PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.

While this has been phased out, there should come a time when Sony will offer more free PS4 and PS5 games.

Four free games a month sounds like a big update and will make it easier to sell PlayStation 5.

But it has not been confirmed when this could happen, or if this will be part of a larger renovation.

The latest news from Sony on the subject is that they plan to offer more free PS5 games as part of PlayStation Plus.

There is no guarantee that this will start in December, as Sony has not solidly confirmed anything.

But the good news is that free PS5 games are coming to the popular subscription service, and Sony will confirm this this week:

“All PlayStation Plus members will continue to receive at least two great PS4 games each month.

“Our goal is to regularly add PS5 games to the monthly games list, so check with us on the PS blog for our monthly PlayStation Plus announcements.

“If a PS4 game is playable on the PS5 and you are still a member of PlayStation Plus, you can download it to your PS5 and play.”

Until more next-gen games are announced, PS5 owners can enjoy the new PS Plus collection.

The PlayStation Plus collection contains some of the biggest and best PS4 games, including The Last of Us Remastered, Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, and God of War.

That is in addition to games like Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn, Persona 5, and Resident Evil 7.

PlayStation Plus members who own PS5 will be able to redeem and play a select library of generation-defining PS4 games, including Batman: Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Fallout 4, God of War, Monster Hunter: World, Persona 5.

The PlayStation Plus collection is available now and the number and availability of titles may vary by country.

Once a player redeems a game from the PlayStation Plus collection, they can keep the games for as long as they are an active member of PlayStation Plus. Redeemed PS4 games from the PlayStation Plus collection and played on PS5 will see benefits such as faster loading speeds and improved or more stable frame rates with PS5 Game Boost.
