CITY OF LEGAZPI – Five people, including a four-year-old boy, were killed when Typhoon Ulysses struck the Bicol region, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The boy, identified as John Lyndon Candelaria, died due to a landslide in Labo, Camarines Norte, according to the report.
In the same municipality, Federico Taroza, 47, drowned.
In Camarines Sur, the body of Johnny Miraña, a resident of Goa, was found off the coast of the neighboring town of San José.
Miraña reportedly tried to save her goat from rising waters.
The OCD previously reported two deaths in Camarines Norte: Avelino Cabaneta, 68, a resident of the coastal village of Bagasbas in Daet, who died while repairing his roof; and Salva Mangubat, 70, a resident of the Gabon village of Talisay, who slipped while trying to get out of bed in the middle of a typhoon on Wednesday.
Of the 12 localities in Camarines Norte, 10 registered flood incidents. In Camarines Sur, 23 towns and the cities of Naga and Iriga also registered floods.
