Elevation in 3 Bulacan dams exceeds the level of spill due to ‘Ulises’

CITY OF MALOLOS –– The three dams in Bulacan began to release water after the elevation exceeded spill levels in the early hours of Thursday due to heavy rains from Typhoon “Ulises”, according to the provincial management and reduction office disaster risk.

The Ipo dam released water at a high volume of 1,361.79 cubic meters per second (cm) when its level rose to 101.76 meters above sea level (masl), breaking the spill mark of 101.00 masl. The volume of water released was finally reduced to 587 cms.

The Bustos dam, which has a spill level of 17 meters, has begun to release water at a volume of 2,520 cm after its level rose to 18.04 meters.

The Angat Dam stock rose to 211.30 meters above sea level compared to its spill mark of 210 meters above sea level. It was an increase of 5 meters from the day before.

Officials managing the Angat Dam said they also dumped water on Thursday morning.
