MANILA, Philippines— Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) staff stationed at New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City were ordered to evacuate after a skirmish broke out inside their maximum security compound.
In a statement, BuCor said that SWAT and SAF police teams, as well as personnel from the Office of Fire Protection, have been deployed to the area.
“BuCor personnel who were in the offices during the incident were ordered to evacuate to the National Headquarters immediately to ensure that no injuries will be inflicted on them,” the statement read.
The riot broke out around 8 a.m. M.
