Realme is now PH’s # 1 phone brand. See the top 5 in Q3 2020

The latest report from a market research company on the local smartphone market is out now, and we’re basically looking at the same players in the rankings as last time – they only changed their spots.

According to Canalys, the former No. 2 Real me shot down Alive to become the Philippines’ top supplier in Q3 2020. It captured 25% of the market, growing a whopping 531% YoY.

Realme, recently revealed also as (still) the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world, has just introduced its Narzo sub-brand in the country with the launch of Realme Narzo 20. The phone is priced at P7,990 (about $ 166 converted) and will go on sale starting November 11.

Vivo could have settled for second place with its 21% market share, but it still grew at a rapid rate of 103% annually.

BBK Electronics brand recently unveiled its second 5G phone in the Philippines after the Vivo X50 Pro With a gimbal-like camera system, the I live V20 Pro. The unit was launched together with the V20 and V20 SE about two weeks ago.

Hot on Vivo’s heels I was Samsung, which took 18% of the Philippine market. It experienced a modest year-on-year growth of 14%.

In fourth place with a market share of 13% was OPPO, another BBK brand such as Realme, Vivo and OnePlus. It was the only company whose shipments fell 35% from last year.
