Joe Biden is expected to give a televised prime-time speech from his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware on Friday. Kamala Harris, Biden’s running mate vice president, is expected to deliver remarks before Biden speaks.
Here are ways to view Biden’s speech:
Time: Approximately 9 p.m. ET
TV: Most major news networks are expected to broadcast (CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, etc.)
Live broadcast: YouTube via this link on Bloomberg QuickTake: Now – or by clicking on the video below.
Although the former vice president has yet to say what the speech will be about, addressing the nation tonight could be a show of confidence that he will soon be able to claim victory in the 2020 elections.
As of Friday afternoon, Biden is poised to defeat President Donald Trump with just six electoral votes of victory, according to the Associated Press.
Biden is currently in the lead in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada as ballots continue to count in each of the battlefield states. If any of those states won, they would win the presidential election.
The former vice president spent Friday at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, while waiting for the remaining votes to be counted. Throughout the week, he has urged his supporters to be patient and “keep the faith” as ballots continue to be processed.
“Democracy is sometimes complicated,” he said. “Sometimes it also takes a little patience. But that patience has now been rewarded for more than 240 years with a system of government that has been the envy of the world.”
Outside of the Wilmington Convention Center, a stage that was set up since election night for a Biden victory party remains intact.
But the presidential race has not yet been called.
The pending ballots in each of the aforementioned states are still being counted, and the results are expected to continue coming through this afternoon and evening.
As of Friday afternoon, approximately 92 percent of the vote had been cast in Nevada; 96 percent of the votes were reported in Pennsylvania; and 98 percent had been reported in Georgia, according to The New York Times.
