2021 Triumph Trident 660 officially launched

After multiple prototypes and teasers, Triumph has officially unveiled the Trident 660. The Trident hopes to revolutionize the middleweight roadster segment with its three-cylinder engine, technology and competitive pricing.

The new Trident 660 features a new 7-inch full LED headlight. There is also an LED taillight and auto-cancel LED indicators.

With its unique three-cylinder offering, Triumph says it combines the low and mid-range of a twin, with the maximum performance of a four-cylinder engine, to offer the best of all worlds.

The 660cc engine produces a maximum power of 81hp at 10,250rpm and more than 90% of the maximum torque is available over most of the rev range, reaching a maximum of 64Nm at 6,250rpm.

Handling all this power is ride-by-wire technology with 2 riding modes and adjustable traction control. The ‘Highway’ and ‘Rain’ driving modes adjust the throttle map and traction control. There is also a switchable traction control, integrated into both driving modes, which can also be deactivated directly via the instrument menu.

The Trident is equipped with a stylish suspended silencer to maximize the listening pleasure of your three-cylinder 660. The exhaust has been tuned to deliver a deep, crisp engine sound.

Its unique engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with gear ratios and final drive optimized to suit everyday driving, dynamic driving, and reliability needs. It also comes with a slip assist clutch with a new interval-optimized clutch lever, requiring only light force to reduce driver fatigue.

The Trident was designed for everyday use with a light steering weight, low seat height, and slim width. It tips the scale with a wet weight of just 189 kg, thanks to its all-new tubular steel chassis. The chassis is topped by a 14-liter fuel tank.

Rides on Showa inverted forks with 120mm of travel. Behind it is a Showa preload adjustable monoshock. It comes with lightweight 17-inch aluminum spoke wheels and aluminum tapered bars. Optionally, a tire pressure monitor can be installed, which is integrated into the instrument panel. Stopping it is a Nissin brake system with 2-piston sliding front calipers with two lightweight 310mm discs at the front and a Nissin single-piston rear caliper on the rear disc, governed by ABS.

For the details of the trip, the pilot gets a classic round dial-shaped multifunction TFT display.

It is easily integrated into the optional My Triumph connectivity system, which can also provide turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control, and phone and music control, all via Bluetooth, using the handlebar-mounted switch hubs.

The Trident will be offered in four colors; Silver Ice and Diablo Red; Matt Jet Black and Matt Silver Ice; Crystal White; and Sapphire Black.

Triumph has also made the Trident easier to maintain with fast service times and a 16,000 km service interval.
