MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robredo personally went to the city of Calabanga in Camarines Sur on Monday afternoon to verify the devastation of Super Typhoon Rolly in the area and provide relief to affected families.

Based on photos shared by the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Robredo went to Sabang National High School, where evacuees sought refuge when Rolly struck their township.

The structure of the school, however, was also damaged by the typhoon. – dubbed the strongest in the world so far this year as some of the classroom roofs collapsed while others lost their roofs.

“According to barangay officials, several classrooms were damaged during the typhoon’s rage while evacuees remained there. The OVP also brought emergency aid to the community, ”the OVP said in a statement.

Robredo also visited Barangay Sabang and spoke with residents. Photos shared by Robredo’s office also showed the great damage Rolly brought to the area.

From his hometown Camarines Sur, Robredo had to go to Albay and Catanduanes. two other provinces in the Bicol Region that were hit by Rolly over the weekend.
