President Donald Trump has indicated that he may fire America’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, during a midnight rally in Miami, Florida, less than 48 hours before the critical U.S. presidential election.
As the crowd at the Miami Opa-Locka airport chanted “Fire Fauci,” Trump paused for a few seconds and allowed the chants to continue before replying, “Don’t tell anyone, but let me wait until a little after the election. I appreciate the advice. I appreciate.”
He continued: “No, he has been wrong in many things. He is a good man though. He has been wrong in many things. ”
Fauci, one of the world’s leading infectious disease experts, has served for more than three decades as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. [NIAID].
