The Davao city government will begin to implement the mandatory use of the “Safe Davao QR” (DQR) system among residents and non-residents from 7 November.
Safe Davao QR is a platform created by the local government to help streamline contact tracing and enforce the ban on non-essential travel.
All residents and non-residents of the city of Davao must obtain their unique and permanent DQR to travel around the city. Those planning to enter Davao City will also need to obtain a DQR.
The city government, through a public notice posted on its official Facebook page, announced the start of DQR registration from 5 pm on Saturday, October 31.
The local government officially gave the link where the public can secure their own QR code, https://safedavaoqr.davaoct.com.
“The DQR link for INDIVIDUALS will be open to all who need to move around the city of Davao to work, do business, access essential goods and services,” the city government said in a notice.
To register through the link, the applicant must present a clear photo of their entire face, facing the camera; a clear photo of your valid identification (ID) card or birth certificate; a clear photo of your face along with your valid ID or birth certificate; valid mobile phone number; and a valid email address.
Among the valid identifications that will be honored are the following: Social Security System / Government Service Insurance System, Unified Multiple Purpose Identification Card; Driver’s license from the Office of Ground Transportation (a student permit can be accepted if it is in card format); Identification of the Professional Regulatory Commission; Overseas Workers Welfare Administration / Integrated; Card from the Department of Labor and Employment; Elections Commission Voter ID or Elections Official Voter Certification with dry stamp; Philippine National Police Firearms License; Identification of senior citizen; Aviator’s license (issued August 2016 onwards); Philippine Postal ID (issued as of November 2016); School identification; Passport; and in the absence of valid identification, PSA copy of a birth certificate.
Davao City residents who do not have a valid ID or birth certificate can apply for their DQR at the nearest police station, while Davao City residents who do not have a valid ID or birth certificate they must first meet these requirements before they can register for a DQR.
Employers must help all their workers who do not know how to connect to the Internet or do not own a smartphone.
The DQR link registration for establishments officially opened at 10am on Sunday, November 1.
The owners of establishments will register in the same link for individuals.
City government employees who participated in the DQR pilot test last week will need to obtain a new DQR.

The city government also reminded the public not to post or share their personal QR code to prevent identity theft.
The public is also warned not to access any other link than the one provided by the City Council.
DQR is free and will not require any credit card or bank details, the local government said.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the DQR is in response to the continued rise in Covid-19 cases in the city, attributing the easing of some quarantine restrictions since the city switched to quarantine. modified general community.
