The visual report presented by the chapter of the People’s Republic of China in Catanduanes so far showed the damage caused by Rolly in three of the towns in the province, according to Gordon.
He said that in the municipality of Virac, 80 to 90 percent of homes have been damaged.
Meanwhile, Rolly damaged 50 and 80 percent of the houses in San Andrés and Bato, respectively.
“By this afternoon, I’m sure we will get a report on the rest of the cities and a more accurate report because they will count totally damaged houses and partially damaged houses,” Gordon continued.
Gordon, meanwhile, said the People’s Republic of China will send water and fuel tanks, generators, as well as tarps and communication devices to Catanduanes.
“They do not have water, totally without water, we are sending three cisterns of water, ten thousand liters perhaps more because I suppose the whole province will need it,” he said.
“At the same time, we will be producing water. We will have machines to produce water, “he added.
The People’s Republic of China will also install a desalination facility donated by Israel, according to Gordon.
“We can get water from the ocean and try to increase the province’s water supply,” he said.
A team from the People’s Republic of China is currently en route to Catanduanes with such supplies, Gordon added.
So far, the People’s Republic of China has recorded six deaths in the province.
Tropical cyclone wind sign no. 5 was hoisted over Catanduanes early Sunday morning after Rolly made landfall for the first time in the town of Bato.
