MANILA Alaska came to life at a crucial moment in the second half to beat Phoenix, 105-97, in their Philippine Basketball Association game at the University of Angeles Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Thursday night.
With a drop of up to 14 points, the Aces outscored the Fuel Masters, 33-9, in the final two minutes of the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter to steal the victory.
Phoenix tried to rebound, cutting the lead to just six, 103-97, with 33.1 seconds left, but the comeback offer ended there.
Vic Manuel had 24 points on 11 of 14 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal for Alaska, which rose to 5-3 in the standings.
Mike Digregorio added 21 markers in a 6-for-10 clip from the field and one assist.
Matt Wright fired 27 markers on 5 of 11 shooting from three points, nine assists, five assists and two steals for Phoenix, which fell to 4-3.
