FILIPINO martial arts icon and former lightweight world champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang chooses reigning champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee of Singapore over undefeated challenger Iuri Lapicus of Moldova when they face off at One: Inside the Matrix in Singapore’s indoor stadium on Friday.

It’s a matchup Folayang will be watching closely as it will determine the future of the lightweight division and the 36-year-old “Landslide” leans toward the younger boy to win the fight.

“This is a good fight between Christian Lee and Iuri Lapicus. The best two in the division, even. As a fan of martial arts, I am excited to see this, ”Folayang said.

Lee is only 22 years old, while Lapicus is 25.

The undercard will be broadcast live and will feature four world title bouts for a total of six compelling martial arts contests.

In the main event, reigning world middle and light heavyweight champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang from Myanmar plays his belt against top contender Reinier “The Dutch Knight” from Ridder of the Netherlands.

Folayang himself will appear on the same card much earlier in the night when he takes on Australian Antonio “The Spartan” Caruso in a three-round mixed martial arts contest.

The “Collapse” is in a win-win situation after losing three of its last four contests, but remains confident that it can pull off the victory and make another championship run.

“I am still strong. I’m still hungry. I am improving every day. I’ve always said that a martial artist is like a fish and the cage is like water, ”Folayang said.
