The Philippines recorded 1,761 new cases of the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Thursday, the Department of Health (DoH) said.
This brings the total number of active cases to 39,940 or 10.6 percent of the 376,935 infections recorded in the country, the DoH said.
Quezon City had the most new cases at 85, followed by Rizal at 74, Caloocan City at 73, Davao City at 70, and Laguna at 69.
Of the active cases, 94.2 percent are mild and asymptomatic, 3.7 percent are critical, and 2.1 percent are severe.
Of the total number of Covid infections, 87.5 percent or 329,848 have recovered from the virus, including 740 new survivors.
Thirty-three more victims of the virus died, bringing the figure to 7,147 or 1.90 percent of the total number of infections.
The DoH said 26 of the 33 deaths, or 79 percent, occurred in October and from July 7 to September.
The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest number of deaths with 12.
Covid infections worldwide have reached 44.5 million, including 1.174 million deaths.
